Just eight percent of 1,546 consumers surveyed in the United Kingdom said they want to receive a mobile coupon while they are in a supermarket. Conversely, 51 percent said they were fine with receiving mobile coupons before entering the grocery store.

New York based startup CityPockets, gives deal hunters a way to manage multiple coupon services in one tidy place. Its free service imports vouchers from deal sites like Groupon, Living Social and Boards Deals, and organizes them, reminding you when the coupon is close to expiring.

eBay is upgrading the mobile apps for its various sites. Its new Half.com app for the iPhone lets shoppers compare prices and sell products with barcode scanning functionality.

According to America’s largest independent mobile advertising network, Android is now the biggest mobile advertising destination. Forty-six percent of all impressions on the Millennial Media network were on Android devices, compared to Apple’s 32 percent.

Almost a third of UK shoppers have used their mobile phones to access a retailer's website, a survey published by ForeSee Results has noted. During the recent Christmas holiday, eight percent of online consumers made a purchase via their mobile phone.
